Five Things I've Learned In 2014♡

Don't Hold Grudges
I am the worst when it comes to holding grudges. I will fume over it forever and constantly think about something bad someone has done to me. I finally, after years and years, let go of a lot of things. They were all holding me back, keeping me from being happy. "Let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy."

Learn To Forgive
This goes a lot with not holding grudges, but I feel like it's different. Truly forgiving someone is one of the hardest, but best things you can do for yourself. No one is perfect and I'm definitely no different. There's a lot of things I've done I wish people would forgive, and I hope they have. "Remember, when you forgive, you heal. When you let go, you grow."

Be Kind
A lot of the times I was mean, I had a little voice in my head saying don't do that! Don't say that! So often I wish people were kinder and I wasn't holding up my end. It's so easy to jump in and agree with friends when it comes to gossip and drama. Not being apart of it will make your life so much easier. You'll also feel a lot better about yourself when you don't feel the need to bring down others. "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be Kind. Always."

Take Risks
I don't know why people are so scared of doing something they've always wanted to do. I was so scared about making my own blog, but even in these last six months I've been doing it, I have only made myself happier by doing something I've always wanted to do. I'm going to keep trying to take risks and follow my dreams. "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will."

Live Your Life
I was constantly worried about making everyone happy. Doing what they expect me to do. Feeling guilty for marrying young, moving away from my family, and not going to that college they always wanted me to go to. But why live your life for others? They have their own and you have yours. At the end of the day it's your own happiness that matters the most. Follow YOUR dream and not others. Don't feel guilty for being who you really are. "The less you care, the happier you will be."

There's five things I've learned in 2014. This year I did a lot of growing up. I honestly don't know why this year I decided to change for the better. (At least try to) I just know I've needed it for a long time. This year was a big eye opener for me and I hope I can grow and learn more next year as well.
I'll just keep trying my best. Happy New Years everyone.

A Homesick Christmas♡

Today is Christmas Eve and I'm up early prepping for our Christmas lunch tomorrow. I've decorated Christmas cookies, that to be honest, didn't taste as good as they looked! Anyways, I watched the final Hobbit movie this weekend. It kinda turned into a little Christmas tradition to go watch it in theaters. I'm going to miss that. (The movie was so good btw. It finally gave me the LOTR feels I wanted in the other two!)

I managed to get a couple things under the tree that will actually be a surprise for Steven. He can always guess what he gets from me! My family in Texas got their gifts I sent and I can't wait for them to open them. I didn't really buy too many gifts this year. Mostly just focused on getting me and Steven things.

Now that Christmas is here, I am sadder than I thought I would be. Spending the holidays away from your family for the first time kinda makes me a little emotional. Still going to focus on now and make sure to give my family a phone call. Please remember the military members that aren't able to go home. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

My Christmas Picks On Netflix♡

Am I the only one who is kinda disappointed in Netflix movie wise? I've rounded up four Christmas movies that I'd watch and have seen before that I KNOW are good picks!

1. Christmas With The Kranks
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas
3. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas
4. Bad Santa

Hopefully this will save you some trouble when you are looking for a movie to help get into the spirit! My personal favorite is Christmas With The Kranks. I watch it every year. I just so happen to have that one on DVD. ;) Merry Christmas!

Under The Mistletoe♡

I saw Too Faced was doing free shipping on all their holiday collection and an extra 20% off... So what?? Maybe I caved! I had really wanted the Everything Nice Set but it was sold out at Sephora. Maybe next year!

They're all super shimmery and have a nice pigment. There's
Naked Dolly
Marshmellow Bunny
and Spice Spice Baby (my favorite)

The bag it comes with is glittery and the glitters kinda don't want to stay on the bag, but other than that I really like this set! A bit drying with all the glitter but I normally wear chapstick underneath my lipstick. If you're not a fan of sparkle, skip this! So much shine but I love them!
Until next time friends~

Life Lately♡

I haven't written a post about life lately so I thought I'd do a little Christmas edition. I've been getting ready for the holidays for a month now and I'm still just as excited! I've got our lights and decor up and am constantly burning Christmas candles. We also got our first snow for this year and I'm wondering if we'll have a white Christmas. Isn't that what everyone dreams for?

We won't be visiting our family this year for Christmas because the military has its own plans. So we're just going to make the best of it and hangout with the 'family' we've made up north. Steven and I have already opened all of our Christmas presents to each other since we see no since in waiting to open them with just the two of us. I've started making little Christmas treats to snack on and have eggnog in our fridge. I'm not a very good cook so our Christmas dinner plans are still up the air!

I've been posting a bit more since work has been kinda slow lately. My hours have been cut a bit and I've been lounging around at home watching movies all snug. It's getting colder outside here in Idaho so I'm sure we're getting another snow before we know it! What's everyone up to lately? Until next time!

Our DIY Christmas Photos♡

I'm always on the search to do my own photos. Now with my first DSLR, I can really have fun! I've always taken our photos together myself for years with just a regular old point and shoot. I'm still learning to get better everyday but now I have what I feel like is a 'real' camera to really branch out!

One of the best things to get when taking your own photos is a tripod. I can not explain how much easier it is then setting it on something that's "just the right height". Usually never works how we want it to anyways. The tripod is so easy to throw your camera on (maybe not throw) and start shooting stable photos. No more shaky, blurred photos!! A life changer!

Another good thing to invest in is a remote for your camera. No more having to run back to the camera before the timer goes off! (Even though I'm sure that's good exercise) Getting a remote has been one of my favorite "must haves" when it comes to taking your own photos.

Don't forget about props and where you're taking your own photos. With it being so cold and snowy in Idaho lately, I reverted to just taking our Christmas photos indoors. A plain background can suffice but if you want to get extra fancy, in front of the Christmas tree is perfect for holiday photos. Or putting on reindeer antlers; what we did last Christmas.

So there are quite the basics. My husband is the most comfortable taking pictures when it's just me guiding him. I personally find it funner to try and do our own photos anyway. I love to edit and come up with my own ideas every year! So I hope you pull that camera out and have fun this year. I think it's a cold one.
Until next time! ♡

Christmas Wishlist 2014♡

Hello December!! Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I've been getting ready for it for a couple of weeks now. I already have a few from my Christmas wishlist already. *grinch smerk* But since it was on my wishlish this year, I went ahead and put it in. Most are kinda expensive so I haven't got a huge list! It's not about the gifts after all, but who doesn't like a few special things you've been wanting all year?

1. Too Faced "Under The Mistletoe"
2. Christmas Socks
3. iPad Mini
4. Canon Rebel T5i
5. Christmas Sweater

So that's my wishlist this year! My house is all decked out for the holidays. This year will be the first Christmas with my husband since I spent last year with my family in Texas. Can't wait! What's on your wishlist for this year? Leave yours in the comments!

Make Up: Your Guide to Beauty, Style, and Success–Online and Off♡

Michelle Phan's new book has been on a wish list of mine since it came out. You probably know her on YouTube. She's one of the most famous beauty gurus in the world. She has taught and inspired so many with her story and success and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

This book has a lot more content than I expected. It's not just about a makeup, but also gives really inspirational advice that you can use online and off. One of my favorite things in her book is that it tells a lot of her personal story to get where she is today.

Her family was always struggling and she turned to doing art and being creative for an outlet. Little did she know that her little videos would start to go viral. More and more people enjoyed learning and watching her create new looks and learn new things. What I liked about Michelle was her sweet personality and her constant new content in videos. You can tell how much time and effort she would put in her videos for her fans.

I've learned a lot of makeup tips and tricks from Michelle over the years. More so now that I'm older. This book is filled with a lot of beauty related things (of course!) and it's been so fun to read and flip through them.

I recommend this book fully. There's things in here that is so inspiring to read as women as well as other things that all girls could learn from. I've always been a big fan of hers and this book just makes me even more of a fan.

Good luck everyone! ♡

Selfie Tips♡

Hey, guys!! We all know that selfies have literally taken over everywhere! Everyone's taking selfies and I personally think it's great! I've been taking my personal photos very seriously since I was about thirteen and before the whole 'selfie nation' even existed! (hardy har) One of my favorite things to do is look back at them and see how much I've changed over the years. It's so cool to see your style change.. maybe not so much as watching yourself get older!

I thought I'd share a few of my tips and tricks when it comes to taking your own photos.

1. L I G H T I N G : Just going to go ahead and make this number one. I can't stress how much light helps! Get in front of a window, go outside, go somewhere with a ton of light. The darker the image is, the harder it is to decipher what's going on and the more pixelated your picture turns out to be. You want nice lighting for sharper photos.

2. A N G L E : Different angles work for different people. I like the right side of my face better than the left, also don't like my side profile. It's all about trying different things out, and try not to take the same pose every time! The higher you have your camera from you, the slimmer your face will appear. Try out different angles by tilting your head.

3. E X P R E S S I O N : No one likes to look at the same expression in every photo. Why do you think they make such a big deal of Kristen Steward and her same expression every picture? Throwing some silly faces every now and then changes it up. Showing moods really is a good idea and I enjoy seeing people smile in their pictures. (Even though I'm guilty of not liking smiling with my teeth showing)

4. B A C K G R O U N D : Some people may not notice how messy your room is, or bathroom. I'm the type though who does! I know it doesn't really matter but clutter in a photo takes a lot of focus off you and more on your background and what's going on around you.

5. C O N F I D E N C E : Do YOU feel good and confident and just want to show off how good you feel about yourself? Yes, it might be hard to feel completely confident. When I think I look good, I feel good. I feel like getting things accomplished and smile more. You might not take the perfect picture the first time, take more than one!

6. E D I T I N G : Get artistic, try all kinds of apps and editors and just have fun! Probably my favorite thing about taking pictures is getting to edit them. I wrote a post on what apps I like to use here!

Selfies are all about having fun and saving memories. I say, enjoy them and don't be afraid to snap a few! Look back a few years from now and see how much you've changed. Hope you enjoyed this post guys! Until next time friends!

Halloween Movie Recommendations♡

Hello everybody! I don't know about you, but I love a good scary film. It's a tradition for me and Steven to stay up all night watching horror movies and passing out candy to kids! I thought I'd list a few movies in case you're on a hunt for a few recommendations for this Halloween. These are a few that's come out in the last year or so I recommend!

1. THE CONJURING - I really liked this one! It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but definitely kept you at the edge of your seat and I remember leaving the theater saying how much I enjoyed it!
2. MAMA - There's a few parts in this movie I still think about that give me a bit of the willies. We saw this in theaters with Steven's family and stayed up late that night trying to scare each other by just saying 'mama!'.
3. INSIDIOUS 2 - If you've seen the first one, definitely go check this one out. Personally, I prefer the first one and thought it was scarier! These always leave me with that 'odd' feeling once the movie is over.
4. THE PURGE ANARCHY - I love the whole plot around these movies. A lot of people were disappointed with the first movie, but I still enjoyed it as well as this one!
5. YOU'RE NEXT - These kind of suspenseful movies get me every time! Not too scary, but there's something about killers in masks that always tend to freak me out.
6. ANNABELLE - this movie will be in theaters this Halloween and we just watched it not long ago. It was thrilling, scary and all around a good little horror film!

What's your plans this Halloween and do you have any scary movies you plan on watching?
Until next time friends!

Old Idaho State Penitentiary♡

This October we decided to do something different and a bit spooky, visit a haunted penitentiary! We went to Old Idaho State Penitentiary in Boise. Admission is cheap and the place has an amazingly creepy vibe. I was able to take some awesome pictures and can't believe how interesting this place was.

I showed pictures to my mom and she said, "Wow, if only walls could talk." Granted, the paint on most of the walls were peeling and there were sketched words and names in some of the cells. What if walls could talk? The prison dated back all the way back to 1872 through 1973 and hosted some of the world's most notorious criminals.

This little visit made me want to try and see other haunted or vacant places around the world. There's so many places that have a lot of history to them. I say, go visit somewhere old and read up the history. It's so interesting to see what years of vacantness turns into.

Until next time friends~!

Tips To Save Money On Your Wedding♡

Sometimes when the subject of how beautiful my wedding comes up, there's always that question of, "how much did you spend?" When I tell them I spent under $2,000, they tend to not believe me! So I'm gonna tell you some tips to cutback on all the expenses, but still leaving room to spend money on things you think are the most important on your special day.

First thing is, what's going to be your theme? Any theme can vary in expenses, but I had always wanted a vintage theme wedding since I was little. Pick a theme you can look back on in twenty years and still be satisfied with.

source

Wedding Venue. This will probably be one of your most important decisions for your whole wedding. Think, will it fit my theme? Will my guests enjoy it here? Is there enough room for my number of guests? I chose the Beaty Orton House in Jasper, TX. (Our hometown) It has a very vintage look to it, as well as in the interior. So I wouldn't have to put up too much decor. I wanted my ceremony outside in the backyard underneath the trees. I only spent about $250 on our venue because we only needed to rent out about six hours.

Guests. How many guests are you wanting to invite? This is the biggest thing that can be more costly. The more people you have attend, the more likely the cost will be for you. I just wanted a small group of people with close friends and family and preferred it that way, with the cost or not.

Wedding Invites. Here's another thing you can cut costs on. Why spend hundreds of dollars when you can just make them yourself? I swear I must've only spent $20 on all of them. I chose to do postcards and found a free site here and used that exact one. When you do postcards you cut out the costs of envelopes as well as stamps. Just look for a free invite online that fits your theme and BAM! It's that easy! I couldn't have been happier with how ours turned out!

FREE is your best friend. Do you know how many free printables there are on the internet? A TON. I printed out and made my own fans for guests, ect! There's a lot of free ones here that I used myself.

The Dress. This was my biggest purchase for my whole wedding. I wanted to look/feel beautiful in a dress on my special day as well as have great pictures to look back on and who knows, what if I have a little girl one day who wants to try on her momma's wedding dress? I got my dress with my mom and had one of those mother/daughter moments in a wedding gown at David's Bridal. Can you believe it was the first dress I put on? As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one. It was vintage looking, long train, lace and even had a keyhole back that I always pictured having. We both cried as soon as I walked out of that dressing room. It was everything and more!

The cakes. My pastor's wife made both of my cakes from scratch. Keeping in mind my theme. Helps knowing people! I got a big discount on both of my cakes, and they were extra special because she has been making my birthday cakes since I was young. So see if you know anyone who makes cakes and does a good job, you never know!

The help of friends and family. This is the most important thing I can tell you. Have friends/family bring food. Help with pouring drinks, ect. My dad set up and took down all of the chairs we used outside for the ceremony and he loved being able to help. My mom made sure to make some of her special foods. It all helps, little by little. I wouldn't have got to have the wedding of my dreams without the people who pitched in and helped.

Don't over stress. I see people all the time who plan a wedding for over a year. It's good to have enough time to get everything done but I did most of everything within the last month leading up to the wedding. Make check lists and reservations for chairs/tables and anything you know you can't get last minute.

Traditions. Will the groom's side pay for the dinner rehearsal? If so, let them! Don't be afraid to let the groom's side help out. They're just as important as the bride's side! It feels more special when both parties help with the wedding coming together. It's a good way for them to know each other more, and will be easier on your part.

Pictures. Let's be honest. Photographers are expensive. Especially for a wedding. I didn't have the funds so I just got my Aunt to take pictures as well as my sister-in-law. I have so many pictures since I did that, a lot more than I would've gotten with a photographer. I enjoy editing photos and didn't mind editing my wedding ones at all. Just make sure to step out during the after party and take some special ones with your groom. Like a normal photographer would. I treasure all my photos from my wedding!

Something might go wrong. No one's perfect, something might not turn exactly how you pictured it. I left my petticoat at home and had to have my dad make a quick run to my house to get it before the wedding started. The thing is to focus on what all the good things are happening, even the smallest good things will be precious. Your flower girl might be walking around during your ceremony, but looking adorable while doing it. Treasure everything because it'll go by so fast. Don't dwell on things you have no control over and enjoy y'all's day!

Well, there's some of my top tips and tricks about saving some money/time on a nice wedding. I think anything can be special and made into what you make it. We eloped right after Steven finished his basic training in San Antonio before we even had this wedding with our friends and family. Even though we had a lovely wedding with everyone, the most important thing is you and your future husband. What you both want with each other. I'll always cherish running off and getting married like we always said we would when I was fourteen.

Maybe one day I'll make a post on us eloping? Here's a little sneakpeak.

Until next time friends! Hoped this helped a little!

The TaeTiSeo♡

OnStyle has a new show called The TaeTiSeo! Which is three members from SM's most popular girl group, SNSD. It's a show similar to Jessica's and Krystal's reality show that I loove!

I've been loving watching Tiffany, Taeyeon and Seohyun together. I love seeing their outfits they choose as well as their personalities off stage! I try to stay as patient as possible for the next english sub to come out on YouTube. If you love SNSD, definitely don't miss out watching it!

The girls also have another mini album 'Holler'! I've been rewatching their 'Holler' music video so much! TTS has done it again! The MV was beyond perfect!

Until next time!~
