Things I Wish I Knew In High School♡

Angie N Photography

Yes, that's one of my Senior pictures. Crazy how it only seems like yesterday I was throwing on my school uniform, taking care of my poorly done makeup and thinking how hard life was. Not gonna lie, I was a very lazy student. Even though I took AP courses, I managed to fill my school day with texting, dozing off during lectures and reading library books for my own leisure. So what would I tell my high school self?

• Raccoon eyeliner is not every day makeup. (I figured out senior year, less is more... finally)
• Most of your 'friends' there are temporary. We really do move off and never see each other.
• Don't sleep in school. Maybe you shouldn't have stayed up so late playing videogames.
• Grades actually do count. Remember that expensive college you pictured yourself going to?
• Enjoy your time with your mom. Once you graduate you won't get to see her very much.
• One day you will actually marry your boyfriend since 8th grade. Crazy right?
• All the drama that happens doesn't even amount to anything.
• Please fill in your eyebrows. You'd be x10 prettier.
• You're a pretty rad chick. Don't be afraid to talk and not be so shy.
• You'll make mistakes, but a few years from now you'll be a better person for them.
• Hang in there. It goes by fast, so enjoy it. Trust me.

What's something you'd tell yourself during high school?

How I Cut My Bangs♡

Bangs are a fast an easy way to change up your look. I always find myself coming back to cutting my bangs after letting them grow out. I always feel plain without them! I think they tend to fit my personality, making me look and feel a lot cuter! Not to mention hair always grows out. So don't be afraid to do something drastic and fun!

Before I ever started cutting my bangs myself, I did a lot of research. Don't just take some scissors and start chopping, please! Go online, look at instructions and watch videos until you're confident enough to start cutting your bangs yourself. My bangs grow out fast and I just think it's easier to cut them at home rather than keep going to the salon and spending a lot of money.

Not going to tell you I cut my bangs perfectly every time. Especially starting off! It takes practice and I've been cutting my bangs for years now. So after you've researched and watched enough youtube videos about cutting hair, and you feel like you can make it a profession, you're ready!

Get correct scissors. I made this mistake a lot when I first started cutting my bangs. I used my mom's kitchen scissors. *cringe* Go to Sally's or somewhere with real hair cutting scissors and buy them. They're not that expensive and trust me, it's worth it!

Cut on dry hair. I know, more damaging but trust me! If you're cutting your bangs and keeping them the right length, there shouldn't be too much time for that many split ends. Having your hair wet, shrinks your hair. So you might cut off too much. Keep your hair dry and there's no guessing games!

Section your bangs. The triangle section has always worked best for me. You can make it larger or smaller, depending on how thick you want your bangs. I start the highest point on the slant that starts to go downward. It's recommended you never go higher than that slant! I like to line up my bottom two sides with my eyebrow arches. Twist your section and make sure it's all even and tie the rest of your hair up!

Cut a tiny bit at a time. When I say tiny, I mean you cutting your bangs is gonna take some time. You don't want to rush and cut too much off! Take your sweet precious time. You can always cut a little more, but you can't grow your hair nearly as fast!

Reach desired length. I like to cut my bangs a tad bit above my eyes. If you're going to wear a side swept bang, you'll want to keep your bangs longer. So when you push them to the side, they aren't extra short. Cut your bangs with your scissors vertical. You don't want a straight line or something that looks choppy.

Section your new bangs horizontally. Now cut each horizontal section, using the vertical cutting technique. (So much horizontal and vertical words) This will make sure that your bangs get some texture and won't look as straight. I make sure to do this every time I cut my bangs and it makes such a huge difference!

Comb and make sure everything is even. Check to see if both sides are even and nothing is sticking out where it's not supposed to! I take this time to take a few more snips here and there and get everything perfect.

Admire your work. You're done! Congrats on your hard work! Hope it turned out like you planned!

Had fun doing this! ^.^
Until next time friends!~

Tangle Teezer♡

Really been wanting to get the Tangle Teezer as a new brush. So I finally did! I got mine at Target for only around $10. Which I think is a good price. You can buy pricer ones at Sephora or Sally's. I've heard a lot of beauty gurus and others rave about this, so I got it!

I've had it for a few weeks now, almost a month. I had it when I had really long hair and it was amazing at getting out tangles. It says you can comb your hair with this when it's wet, but I'm totally against brushing my hair when it's wet for unneeded damage. I wait until it air dries before combing it! I find this better for my hair.

There's definitely a lot less pulling and tugging when it comes to this brush! The only thing that is a bit odd is if you want to pull your hair up. Having no handle is kinda weird at first. Really like how compact it is though, easy for carrying it around. Since I have short hair now, I don't have that many tangles as I normally did with long hair. But still feel like this brush lightly combs, but does exactly what it needs to! I was very surprised and I'm definitely going to keep purchasing these!

Until next time!~

My Work Space♡

I thought I'd give a short tour of my work space. (Thus far) I think it has a very 'cozy' feel to it. Not only that, but I think a lot of my personal taste is what makes it special. I think everyone should have their own little space they can come and relax at. The right side I have a few things to keep pens and pencils in. (I'm a pen/pencil hoarder) Also a little vase with some fake flowers.

I got my laptop cover and keyboard cover off Amazon. They have a lot of different colors to pick from, but I ended up choosing turquoise because it's one of my favorite colors! I also found this desk used and primed and painted it myself. I really loved how it turned out and it matches my laptop! Can you tell I love turquoise yet? On the left side I keep my Kindle Touch in case I want to read or find a new book. As well as a little bunny figurine and a korilakkuma.

I got the lantern lights on sale at Target. Totally in love! I wanted to add some special pictures on my wall. I saw a lot of posts on Tumblr and Pinterest that had them with polaroids, so I put a few of my favorite people. I plan on adding more later, and I just took them with my Fujifilm polaroid camera!

This is the drawer in my desk! I like to keep a few pencils for quick access as well as my notebooks that I like to write ideas and other random things in. I like to keep my headphones rolled up in the hello kitty glasses case. They don't get nearly as tangled that way! I got the hello kitty scissors at Hobby Lobby many years ago and still adore them.

I even keep Mitsey's little bed on the side. (She always has to be by her momma)

So there's a little tour of my desk area. I plan on doing a few more things to it later on in the future, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. What's your favorite little personal space?
Until next time friends!~

Being An Introvert♡

A lot of the time people think being an introvert is just someone who is shy, but in fact, that's not always the case and has little to do with actually being an introvert. Don't get me wrong, I'm a bit, okay a lot, shy when it comes to meeting new people.

So what exactly does it mean to be introverted? Well, there's a few things that you could do that puts you in that category. My biggest one is to not really wanting to socialize unless it's with a small group of close friends. Even then, I tend to always be exhausted and need to 'recharge' after hanging out. I also need to know ahead of time before hanging out so I can 'prepare' myself for the energy I'll be spending. Sounds crazy right? Well, if you are like this, you're not the only one!

Before I even found out about this, I kept asking myself, 'what's wrong with me?' I'd get so upset, to the point of tears, because I hated myself for not always wanting to hangout with a lot of people I cared about. Not to mention, I never knew exactly how to explain myself when it comes to needing time to myself for a while. Without sounding rude.

Introverts prefer solitary to social environments. Doing activities that let you explore your own personal thoughts. Like reading, doing art, even going hiking. Having that time to yourself is okay. It doesn't mean your depressed. Or anti-social. It just means that you need some time to yourself before a lot of socializing.

So here's some of my tips!

Take time to yourself. No, not everyone will understand even when you try to explain why you need it, but do what you have to do to feel comfortable and at ease.

Enjoy your small group of friends. Less is indeed, more. If you're feeling like you can do it, don't be afraid to go enjoy your hangouts with your close friends. If they're really you're true friends, they should understand and know that you still care even if it means not hanging out 24/7.

Not going to big gatherings is okay. Don't listen to people who are telling you you're missing out on life by not going to the latest parties. If you prefer to stay home on the weekends watching Netflix and laying around in your pj's, then go for it. You're really not missing out on too much, and who cares as long as that's what makes you happy?

Sometimes you need to push yourself. Not saying you should have to do this all the time, but making memories outside your comfort zone can sometimes be worthwhile. I wouldn't have enjoyed my senior year of high school near as much if I didn't.

Don't hate yourself for it. This was one of the hardest things for me, not understanding why I was like this. A lot of people have the same thing and it's not really as big of an issue as long as you take the time for yourself. Be happy with who you are.

Are you an introvert or extravert?
Until next time friends~

Makeup Haul (Eyebrows)♡

So I ordered some stuff online recently, so I thought I'd do a little haul! They are Asian beauty products and I was excited to give them a try. :)

First I'll start with Holika Holika's Wonder Drawing 24hr Eyebrow Pencil.
I got it in Light Brown!

My favorite thing about this brow pencil is the flat, angled shape of the applicator. It makes it so much easier to fill in your brows with little strokes at a time and make it seem more natural looking.
The spoolie is very soft. So depending on your preference, is whether you'll like it or not. Personally, I prefer harder spoolies for better blending!

My eyebrows are normally thick and pitch black, but with my lighter hair I've been needing to lighten up my eyebrows. I thought this did a very good job at that!

My next product is Color My Brows by Etude House.
I have it in #02 Light Brown.

The applicator is small and easy to apply to your eyebrows. Up close, it didn't look like much has changed, but you can tell from farther away that your hair has lightened a bit. (If you chose a lighter color than your actual eyebrows) Not only does it lighten it more but it also sets your eyebrows to last longer!

The rest are just samples I got from Etude House. Excited to try these out soon, but I normally save my samples for special occasions or one of my very important 'spa days'!

Hope you enjoyed this post and maybe can try out some of these products yourself!
Eyebrows are my #1 MUST when I do my makeup, what's yours?
Thanks for reading!~ Love ya~

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lovely Lip Patch♡

The Lovely Lip Patch is, in a nut shell, a gel lip mask for your lips to make them softer and 'kissable'. (Hence the kiss kiss?) The packaging is simply ADORABLE. Which most Tony Moly products are. The smell of it isn't too strong, but to me, I don't like how it smells and when you're wearing it under your nose you'll notice it!

The back explains the directions and ingredients. (Adorably) It says to leave it on your lips for 15-20 minutes and then remove which is exactly what I did. So go play on the computer and don't plan on talking for a bit while you leave this on!

Texture is slippery and weird. Haha. Honestly was like 'what in the world' when I first took it out of the package, but I haven't ever used another lip mask.

So what do I think? It did make my lips softer and smoother, but was short lived. The very next day I couldn't really tell if my lips had gotten any softer. It was a fun product to try out though, but probably won't purchase it again! Overall I give it about a 4/10.

Until next time friends!~

Sailor Moon Crystal♡

Who else is beyond excited/happy with Sailor Moon Crystal?
It's basically like the original Sailor Moon but... reborn. From the very first episode, I relived Usagi's first adventure as Sailor Moon and enjoyed a new form of art for the series.

Wasn't so sure about the way Sailor Moon Crystal was drawn at first, but it definitely grew on me. With their big eyes and colorful suits, what's not to like? After the first episode I enjoyed the 'cute' and 'girly' feeling it gave off. The animation flew smoothly and was very nice. So definitely excited to experience this show in it's new medium.

How did I feel on their transformations? (My favorite part as well as everyone else) I was the most nervous about this, but honestly, they have been awesome so far. I've only got to see Sailor Moon's, Mercury, and Mars since only three episodes have came out. I thought they did a really good job! Can't wait to see the other girls!

There's new episodes every 1st and 3rd Saturdays on Hulu, which is where I've been watching it. They've also reissued the manga from Kodansha! Hope you get to see if you enjoy it if you've like Sailor Moon in the past. I know I will!

Until next time~!

Maybelline 'The Nudes' Palette♡

I picked up this little palette after really liking the colors in it and wanted to give it a try! I thought it'd be a good neutral palette for the summer!

It's a little messy because I've been trying it out, but I like it. It's not very pigmented unless you use eyeshadow primer! But since I wanted it for everyday, (more natural looking) I don't use primer unless I'm going somewhere at night!

Here's the swatches!

Until next time~ ^.^

Jessica & Krystal OnStyle Reality Show♡

(source)

I've been obsessing over watching Jessica & Krystal's reality tv show!

The tv show stars the beautiful Korean American sisters Jessica Jung of Girls' Generation and Krystal Jung from f(x)! It shows them through their everyday life, as well as a lot of behind the scenes from two famous girl groups.

I'm a big fan of Girls Generation and love their music and style and have become a huge fan of Jessica. Probably what I enjoy most about this series is watching what they wear and how they do their makeup/hair. Who wouldn't want to be as flawless as the Jung sisters?

I love getting to know the two girls more and find this show incredibly addictive.
Definite recommend~!
